We assist international students, scholars and their dependents on the Newark campus of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey through the following services:
- Orientation
- Advising on F1 and J1 visa regulations
- Employment authorization
- Liaison services with state/federal agencies
- Cultural events
- Referrals to other Rutgers offices
- Consultation for University offices on immigration issues

- Assist international students and scholars to maintain legal status while pursuing their education and research goals
- Build a “home away from home” for Rutgers Newark’s diverse population of international students, scholars, and their dependents by providing services, programs and advocacy to support them and by assisting campus leadership in fostering an environment of effective cross-cultural communications and of mutual understanding;
- Assist academic departments in their international initiatives and serve as the resource center for them as they work with the international community; and
- Ensure University institutional compliance to the U.S. immigration regulations governing enrollment of F1 students and J1 exchange visitors.
